Heating + Air Paramedics Signs First
Two Franchisees; Focuses in on Industry Professionals
Looking to go from Employee to Franchise Owner. The
Threshold Brands-backed HVAC concept is offering ex-industry
professionals a recession-resistant business opportunity
built to scale. |
With
the Great Resignation strongly impacting the franchise industry, as
first-time franchisees take advantage of a business model that
offers an established and proven-successful operational model that
owners can leverage to run their own business,
Heating + Air Paramedics, the HVAC concept backed by multi-brand
home services franchisor
Threshold
Brands, is helping pave the way for resignation-to-franchise
owners. The brand is narrowing its focus on industry professionals
wanting to go from employee to owner.
“People want control over their careers. They want to own something
for themselves and Heating + Air Paramedics gives them that
opportunity,” said
Ryan Carpenter, Heating + Air Paramedics’ brand president.“We
have built an operating model that anyone can run with. The industry
has changed over the past 15 years and we have developed a franchise
model that reflects those changes. As a result, we’re seeing an
incredible amount of interest from independent HVAC business owners
who want to convert to Heating + Air Paramedics to utilize our
marketing model and resources.”
For those interested in owning their own business, there’s never
been a better time to join the home services industry. Over the past
two years, the industry has not only weathered the pandemic but it
has thrived, seeing a national
spike in demand for home services.

“Think back to the
various waves of lockdowns we’ve experienced when businesses across
the country were closed. Who has been out there, continuing to work?
It’s home service workers: plumbers, HVAC — people providing
essential services to those who need them while they remain at
home,” said Carpenter.
The Launching of the HVAC & Plumbing
Franchises
Carpenter, much like the future franchise owners of the brand, has
been involved in the heating industry for his entire life.
Carpenter’s parents owned a small heating company in Michigan, and
their customer-oriented work ethic inspired the core model of the
franchise he runs today.
“When you work in a small town doing service work, you have to be
honest and live up to your promises. When I started working with
other brands in the industry, I realized this wasn’t the norm. Most
heating businesses are extremely sales-oriented. They are trying to
sell customers as much as possible and both the quality of service
and customer experience are afterthoughts.”
In 2021, Carpenter teamed with Threshold Brands to launch two
separate franchise concepts, Heating + Air Paramedics and Plumbing
Paramedics. The brands join a growing stable of home-service
franchises including
MaidPro,
Sir Grout,
Men In
Kilts, USA
Insulation,
Pestmaster
Services and
FlyFoe.
Franchise Growth into Indiana,
Tennessee and Beyond
Now, less than three months later, Heating + Air Paramedics has
welcomed two franchisees into its fast-growing network. With
locations slated to open later this year, the franchisees will
expand the brand’s footprint in its home state of Indiana while also
marking its entrance into Tennessee.
“Small HVAC companies aren’t what they used to be,” said Dave
Carlile, new owner of Heating + Air Paramedics of Trafalgar,
Indiana. “Google is the new phone book, and if you’re not heavily
present there, you’re going to struggle. With the guidance from
Heating + Air Paramedics, we get the support, marketing tools and
presence that most larger companies have to set us up for success as
we grow our franchise.”
With the support and guidance of Threshold Brands, Carpenter is able
to scale the business on a national scale while providing other
local business owners with the chance to grow alongside the company.
And it’s this support that has helped Heating + Air Paramedics
expand its reach and resources at a critical time.
“Heating + Air Paramedics and its sister brand, Plumbing Paramedics,
offer the perfect complement to the six other home service brands
within the Threshold Brands portfolio,” said
Scott Sutton, Threshold Brands’ chief growth officer. “As part
of the Threshold Brands network, Heating + Air Paramedics
franchisees have the opportunity to grow their footprint as
multi-brand owners and cross-market their services to existing
customers within their network.”
With that support and a surge of interest from prospective
franchisees, Heating + Air Paramedics is embarking on an ambitious
growth plan in 2022. The brand is aiming to establish over a dozen
locations by the end of the year, starting with development in
midwestern states such as Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan,
Ohio and Wisconsin.
The total initial investment to open a Heating + Air Paramedics is
between $105,240 and $205,800 and includes a $40,000 fee that must
be paid to the franchisor. For more information about Heating + Air
