Coburn Supply Company Inc.
is placing a distribution center in the Greenwood-Leflore
Industrial Park in Mississippi.
Company president Don Maloney tells
the Greenwood Commonwealth that the Greenwood facility will employ
between 30 and 40 people once it is fully operational.
Coburn, based in Beaumont, Texas, is a wholesale distributor of
plumbing, heating and air conditioning supplies.
The company will locate the warehouse once occupied by an auto parts
distributor.
Coburn Supply currently operates 53 retail locations. The Greenwood
location “will be servicing about a third of those,” Maloney said.
Maloney said the warehouse will open in February and a retail branch
office will open at the location sometime in the next year. Story

“We’re hoping to get
the laydown yard up as soon as possible,” Maloney said. “It’s a
critical part of our business.”
Maloney said the laydown yard, where piping is stored, would
employ at least 10 people. He said the warehouse would add 20-25
jobs and the branch office would employ three to five
salespeople.
The company is closing a warehouse in the Jackson area.
Greenwood Mayor Carolyn McAdams said the city, the
Greenwood-Leflore-Carroll Economic Development Foundation and
Greenwood Utilities provided a $50,000 grant as part of the
incentive package that included tax breaks as well as an
$825,000 loan and an additional $150,000 grant, both from the
Mississippi Development Authority.
