HVACR Programmatic
Accreditation on The Rise
HVACR programmatic accreditation continues to
grow. Sixteen newly accredited programs were recognized for their
accomplishments at the HVAC Excellence National HVACR Educators and
Trainers Conference.
Programmatic accreditation is where a third party non governmental
peer review is conducted of the specific programs against set
standards. The process validates that established standards of
excellence for HVACR educational programs are met.
These standards are designed to assure that our future workforce
receives the quality of training required to provide the skills
necessary for success.
The benefits of accreditation include: students are given confidence
in the quality of the program, employers have assurance graduates
are properly trained, assists in establishing articulation
agreements, an eligibility determinant for funding, can increase
enrollment, student placement & employer satisfaction is enhanced,
requires faculty participation in self study, can assist students in
the acceptability of transfer credits, and creates goals for self
improvement.
The Mechanical Service Contractors Association of America has made
recruitment of persons with HVAC Excellence credentials a top
priority. Additionally, the United Association has an articulation
agreement with HVAC Excellence to provide advanced apprenticeship
placement as a result of HVAC Excellence credentials.

Standards require a
thorough examination of the mission of the program,
administrative responsibilities, finances and funds, curriculum,
plan of instructions, facilities, equipment and tools,
cooperative training and instructor's qualifications.
