HVAC Division of Mitsubishi Electric US Sponsors Champions Tour Greater Gwinnett Championship.  

The HVAC Division of Mitsubishi Electric US (Mitsubishi Electric), America's No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating technology, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the PGA Champions Tour® Greater Gwinnett Championship. The Greater Gwinnett Championship will be held at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga., April 15-21, 2013. The course will host the tournament through 2016. Mitsubishi Electric is an official sponsor of the PGA TOUR.

A newly added event on the PGA Champions Tour schedule, the Greater Gwinnett Championship will feature 81 Champions Tour professionals competing for the $1.8 million purse. The Greater Gwinnett Championship marks the first time since 2000 that a Champions Tour event has been held in Atlanta.

The sponsorship of the Greater Gwinnett Championship is the most recent addition to Mitsubishi Electric's relationship with professional golf. The company has been a PGA TOUR sponsor since 2007 and, in 2009, became the title sponsor for the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai. The HVAC Division of Mitsubishi Electric US also sponsors PGA TOUR and Champions Tour players Fred Couples, Fred Funk and Corey Pavin.

"The Greater Gwinnett Championship is a natural extension of our relationship with both the PGA TOUR and Gwinnett County," said Bill Rau, senior vice president and general manager, HVAC Division of Mitsubishi Electric US. "This event offers us a terrific opportunity to leverage our involvement in the Champions Tour in our home market of Gwinnett County, where our offices have been located for more than two decades."

The Golf Channel, the Champions Tour's exclusive cable-television partner, will televise all three rounds of the event, expected to reach 83 million homes. The telecast will also be distributed internationally through various partners to 174 countries and territories, reaching more than 95 million additional households.
